Eurocell has announced a new Modus mechanically jointed flush sash window, which combines modern materials with an authentic traditional appearance. The design enables installers and fabricators to offer homeowners a window that offers the look of timber yet retains all the optimum energy efficiency and virtually maintenance-free performance benefits of PVC-U. The window, which is being previewed at Construction Week, is the latest model to join the market-leading Modus range.
Thanks to new methods of fabrication it looks authentic because there is no diagonal weld at the corner to show that it is fabricated from PVC- U. Modus offers sleek sightlines unbroken by external bead lines as, like most contemporary windows, the system is internally beaded for enhanced security standards. Its combination of superb looks, leading technical performance and cost make the Modus mechanically jointed flush sash the best value flush sash window yet. Given its traditional appearance, the new product is ideal for old style Victorian properties, cottages, conservation areas or any situation where the homeowner wants to maintain or enhance the period look of the property, without the maintenance legacy burden of repainting and repairs associated with timber windows.
Featuring a unique 75mm six-chamber profile system, the Modus range delivers the optimum energy efficiency performance and can achieve a U-value as low as 0.7 from a standard system using standard triple-glazed units. From October 1st, Modus casement windows are also amongst the first to be awarded the new A++ Window Energy Rating by the BFRC, confirming maximum double-glazed window performance. Consisting of 50% post-consumer recycled PVC-U as standard, this range of doors and windows has a smaller carbon footprint than products made or recycled outside of the UK.
Eurocell achieves this by employing dual material extrusion technology (DMET) that layers post-consumer recycled and ‘virgin’ material simultaneously, so the recycled material is concentrated in the central core of the profiles where it cannot be seen once the door or window is installed. The first PVC-U window and door system to offer a 12-year guarantee, Modus is available in nine solid and woodgrain-effect colours, all of which are available with white internal finishes to create a light and airy living environment.
A further range of more than 40 solid and woodgrain effect finishes is available, including colour both sides. Modus mechanically jointed flush sash windows are available to order from January.
