The majority of our new window solutions now use post-consumer recycled PVC-U. Just one of the reasons why we've invested £3m in our recycling plant in Derbyshire – the largest and most advanced facility in the UK. This can now process up to 12,000 end-of-life frames per week, regardless of age, colour or finish, and turn them into the components used in our latest range of products.
To make this option equally attractive to the construction industry, end-of-life PVC-U frames are also worth cash. Anyone sending them for recycling can receive payment as well as avoiding landfill taxes which currently stand at £56.00 per tonne and rising. Combined, this makes a significant difference to project costs as well as helping housing associations meet their sustainability and budgetary targets
